Ri Za – Spiral Tension

Modern Agenda is excited to present this beauty of a melodic EP from Ri Za with remixes from AudioStorm and Weird Sounding Dude. Both remixers are new to Modern Agenda and we welcome them aboard.

Spiral Tension is smooth. Really smooth. It has a progressive feel with a bit of edge. At first note, you’ll be swept away by the rhythm and you’re carried along a magical journey, right through to the end. Facets of light and dark emerge throughout the tune.

Phantoms is the b-side track to this EP as a stand-alone. It’s funky and a bit mind-bending. This tune packs an intensity and sounds that get into your mind. Groovy progressive and haunting vocal licks are sure to keep you mesmerized.

Weird Sounding Dude’s remix of Spiral Tension is melody-laden and flows beautifully. The percussion is light, the synth-work is progressive and dreamy. Prog purists, this will be your pick.

AudioStorm delivers an emphatic and emotional take on Spiral Tension and brings it more into the later hours. Minor sounds keep this one moody.

Nico Serjanovich – ZADAR

Modern Agenda is really excited to welcome Nico Serjanovich to the label with this well-planned and sonically delightful EP. We love the sound and texture of both the tracks on the Zadar EP.

Both emotive and finely crafted, Zadar and Hvar are progressive, moody and filled with feeling. Another word that could be used for this EP is that it is powerful. Nothing is left to chance and the details are intertwined as synths play amongst each other with eloquent percussion.

Juliane Wolf – Forbidden Forest EP

Juliane Wolf is back on Modern Agenda with an original of her own, Forbidden Forest, remixed by Dowden. Forbidden Forest is a progressive trip, with that added magic Juliane always adds.

The original flows so smoothly with flirty percussion and a dreamy chords and lead. This one is going to do well on the dancefloors to put people into another level of feeling good.

Our friend Dowden delivers once again with his remix. The Dowden sound is heard at first beat and this one takes the intensity up another notch. Moody and dark, this remix is made for late night raging and will make anyone on the floor feel bad ass.

Jacob Seville, Amber Long – The Break-Up

Jacob Seville and Amber Long have been working together on projects now for a few years. Jacob’s daring style allows Amber to experiment with her vocals and this two-track EP is no different.

The initial two tracks of three, Monopolizing Time and My Story are both very gritty, raw, emotional tunes. Jacob’s love and use of talented synth-play and growling low-end matched with Amber’s moody vocals and lyrics make or the perfect duo of art-pieces in your library.

COMING SOON! Modern Architect -Basement

Modern Architect has a new compilation album that is being released this month. This is a very strong compilation of tunes like a remix of Blusoul (Official) by Pedro Capelossi and Rivellino, a Dowden remix of Ozgur Ozkan Music, a fresh original from Priya Sen and Aman Anand that is sure to knock your socks off, Waxman and Ian Dillon are back with stellar new tunes too and we have some fresh artists to the label, like our resident Zoyzi.

This 10-track compilation has something for everyone and is a beautiful collection of tunes. We don’t want it to get completely lost in the ADE releases but we’ll make sure plenty of you have your copies early so you can play them in your ADE sets!

Stay tuned, this one is a real treat!

RYAN – Daltmar EP

Hailing originally from Buenos Aires, and now Barcelona, RYAN is new to Modern Agenda as a producer but not new to us as an artist. From meeting him face to face in May, then watching him play in the UK in July, RYAN’s talent shines through everything he does.

As a DJ, his mixes are distinct and deep. The same goes for his productions. RYAN’s new Daltmar EP is a prime example of funk fused with depth and flow. Each one of these three tunes have their own unique flavour, the EP as an entirety is a buffet of underground music.

One notable thing is the groove in each one of these tunes. Typically, we put out really moody tunes but these ones are sure to leave you feeling fresh, with a spring in your step. Like you can’t help but curl up a grin while listening.

Modern Agenda reaches its 50th Release!

For our 50th release, Modern Agenda is pleased to welcome Hacobb to the label with this four track EP called Dialogues. Aptly named, our connection with Hacobb started on the right foot through a face-to-face meeting in Athens a few months ago. We had already signed this Ep but had the chance to meet its maker too! We would love to tell you more but Hacobb is still pretty elusive, we couldn’t even find his bio. He is Scottish Greek and a talented producer, that is what we know for sure.

The Dialogues EP is made up of four solid melodic dreamy and tracks that are introspective and creative. The cadence varies along with each track’s intensity, making this an EP of super tunes to fit any set at any hour. A little lighter than some of our releases, this one will take you on a soundscape journey from the second you press play.

Going Underground with Lucas Rossi

Modern Agenda is thrilled to have Lucas Rossi back with this own complete EP on Modern Agenda. Parables, Lucas’ original tune was picked up immediately and played by our friend and mentor, Hernan Cattaneo as soon as we signed it. From there, Hernan went on to play the Funkstate remix as well at Ministry of Sound.

During Lucas’ career, he has shared the stage with great artists within the national and international scene. There are so many names, the list is long and impressive. Even more impressive how far his music travels around the globe, played by many, many Progressive House DJs, including the biggest ones out there. Just like this example, for Parables.

Lucas is currently Label Manager for the label Dreamers and his work as a producer continues to grow with and increasing fan-base internationally.

We wanted to ask him our five questions before his release next week and he kindly provided us with a guest mix on our Soundcloud page.

Thanks for your time and talent, Lucas! Modern Agenda loves you.

Describe the moment when you realized you were meant to make music? Or even if not, “meant”, when did you decide to take the leap and go for it?

Well, when I started doing music in 2012 I did not expect to have a career or travel in and out of my country spreading my music and the music of other artists, I dreamed of course but I never imagined that this could happen. The years passed and I was improving and growing as a dj and producer but I thought that growth was very slow to my liking, I personally had good years and bad years (like everyone else) and some circumstances in my life made me able to make the decision to dedicate all my time at 100% music less than a year ago and I can say that I am very happy to have done it.

Describe your career at one year in, three years in, and now. Where is it headed from here?

All these years have been of constant learning, of the people that I have known, of the places that I have had the possibility to visit and because of myself. My career has always been based on the part of music production, since I started, I realized that being just a dj is not enough and I have tried to grow from that side so I want to continue on that path to achieve goals that I have set out for some time .

What changes did you go through as an artist and in your personal life, do you find you have changed as a person over the years you’ve been an active artist? If yes, how so?

I had many changes in both aspects in these last 3 or 4 years, I learned from my own mistakes and also from other people’s mistakes that in some way or another could harm me, I surpassed them and I still do it, you have to try to be well with yourself because otherwise it will affect all your work and commitment. The most important thing is to focus on you and your goals.

What is your greatest source of inspiration and how do you get yourself in a creative mood when you aren’t feeling especially inspired?

One of my source of inspiration is to listen music and not only electronic music, when i hear something that I really like, that motivates me and encourages me to create.

There is a lot of material in my Soundcloud (tracks and sets) and of course Beatport.

Latest Modern Agenda Release

True to proper progressive house form, Lucas delivers an incredible original. A nice round sound with effective mids throughout, keeping listeners teased. Dreamy vocal licks play amongst the synth work, all coming together in beautiful melodies, still with a bit of edge.

A deep and groovy version of the original, Dark Soul Project and Gustavo Calaf bring us their remix and join us on Modern Agenda with this, their first release with us. The synth work on this one is more intense and insistent, and the pressure rises and falls, just right.

The dreamiest of the three, Funkstate’s remix of Parables is sheer gold. Reminiscent of all things delightful and in flux, this remix has flow, melody and unbeatable optimism. The bass is rolling but stays light throughout. The right recipe for lift-off!

Lucas Rossi – Parables EP

Modern Agenda is thrilled to have Lucas Rossi back with this own complete EP on Modern Agenda. Parables, Lucas’ original tune was picked up immediately and played by our friend and mentor, Hernan Cattaneo as soon as we signed it. From there, Hernan went on to play the Funkstate remix as well at Ministry of Sound. The whole EP is a must-have for all Progressive lovers.

HYPE PICK – Robert Mason – Smolder EP

Big thanks to our friends at Beatport who have chosen the latest release from Robert Mason, Smolder, as one of their Hype Picks this week and putting it on the Progressive House page for all to hear.

The title track is melodic and full of tech elements but maintains its flow, toggling it comfortably between Melodic Techno and Progressive House. It’s up to the listener to decide what they want to call the genre of this beauty. Either way, it will work in any of your sets that call for a little moodiness.

Metamorfosi was written while in Greece in 2017. It has taken some time for this tune to see the light of day but we are thrilled to have it now. It is definitely a Progressive House lover’s cup of tea but the percussion keeps this one upbeat and sexy.
